A combination of your work experience and current and past education should indicate that you are preparing for a career in writing or public relations within the foodservice or food and beverage industry. This is a key requirement.
Only completed and typed application forms will be considered.
An official transcript of your current or last year of study must be included with your application or sent directly from the institution. If you email your application you can send an unofficial transcript but the official one must also be received by our office.
Two letters of recommendation from a supervisor, teacher, advisor or other foodservice or communications professional familiar with your skills must be included with your application.
Essay questions may be answered on a separate page attached to your application. Include the essay questions on the page.
Applications must be mailed and postmarked by March 15, 2015 OR emailed by midnight PST March 15, 2015.
Undergraduate student who will have Senior standing as of Fall 2015, who will be enrolled, and who will continue to be enrolled during the award year (2015-2016 academic year), in a full-time four-year undergraduate degree at a member institution of the Environmental Consortium.
Graduate student who will be entering 1st or 2nd year as of Fall 2015, who will be enrolled, and who will continue to be enrolled during the award year (2015-2016 academic year), in a full-time graduate degree program at a member institution of the Environmental Consortium.
The application process entails writing and submitting a 500+ word essay on the following topic: Distracted driving has become an increasing problem in the United States, and the growing popularity and availability of smartphones is often cited as a significant factor in this increase. While many states have imposed limitations on the way that drivers may use personal electronic devices, the effectiveness of these laws is not yet clear. What changes or new measures could be adopted in order to reduce the risk that cellphone use poses to other motorists, pedestrians, or bicyclists?
